This work now belongs to the core of the Van Gogh Museum, which was founded in 1973 by Vincent-William handing the collection to the state.<\/p> <p>The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam manages the largest collection of Van Gogh paintings and drawings in the world. About 800 of his written letters, mostly to his brother Theo, are also part of the collection. <\/p> <p>This combination is quite unique. Not only because of the high literary quality (around 1900 Vincent was considered a greater writer than a painter among Dutch writers), but above all because of Van Gogh&#8217;s analytical reflections on his own work.
